01 / A LITTLE LESS ROUTINE
HELLO / EAST SUMBA
A quiet beach. A winding road. No hotel corridor in sight.
Pack your bag, climb in and make a little room for the unexpected. Your Jeep and rooftop tent let you explore Sumba’s beaches, hills and villages at your own pace. The best stop might be the one you hadn’t planned.
We’ll help you choose a route that suits the Jeep. Ask locally before camping and settle in before dark. Then pull up a chair. You’ve earned the view.
Get to know the adventureMaintained oldtimers. Plenty of character, and a few quirks to get to know.
Beaches, wide-open hills and a more practical reach from our Waingapu base.

The Jeep has stories. You bring the snacks.

These Jeeps are maintained, but they’re still oldtimers. Mechanical surprises can happen. Let’s agree a suitable route and talk through your vehicle before you book.

01 / THE VINTAGE JEEP
Our Jeeps are around 30–40 years old and maintained with care. Give them suitable roads, sensible driving and a realistic plan.
Know your Jeep02 / YOUR ROUTE
East Sumba is our strong recommendation. Let’s check the roads together before you go. Planning a big West Sumba trip? A modern rental vehicle is a better choice.
Plan your route03 / FIELD ASSISTANCE
Free assistance covers approximately two hours’ driving time from Waingapu. Outside that zone, assistance for any reason starts at IDR 1,500,000, including mechanical problems. Additional costs may apply; immediate rescue is not guaranteed.
Read the conditions04 / LOCAL RESPECT
A friendly hello goes a long way. Ask the community or landholder before camping, agree any fee and respect sacred places. Settle in before dark and take every bit of litter with you.

Wondering what’s packed, where to sleep or how it all works? Start here.
Send us your dates, agree a suitable route and collect your Jeep and camping kit. Then you’re off to explore at your own pace. Ask locally before camping, settle in before dark and bring the Jeep back as agreed. Simple plans, good stories.
The cosy bits: pillows, blankets, chairs and towels. The useful bits: lights, torches, two gas canisters intended for the trip, a lighter, a drinking-water container, USB charging, a 12V-to-USB adapter and a 220V inverter. There’s also a first-aid kit, toolbox, towing rope, jump-start cables and basic emergency/survival equipment.
East Sumba is our strong recommendation. Our guides give you places to explore; overnight spots still need permission. Ask the landholder or community about the exact place you’d like to camp before setting up.
It’s possible, but we don’t recommend it for these vintage Jeeps. For a longer West Sumba trip, consider a modern RentSumba rental instead. East Sumba is our strong recommendation; let’s agree your route before booking. Beyond the approximately two-hour driving-time assistance zone, help for any reason—including mechanical problems—costs at least IDR 1,500,000.
